Where is Spring?

Right here!

Daffodils coming up in the front yard!  Finally, there really is an end in sight to this winter!

About Our Etsy Shop…

At long last we have listings in our Etsy shop!  I know, it’s been a while.  Actually, its been a really, really long time.  But we’ve finally started and will continue listing our yarns and fibers on a weekly basis–we promise!  Think of it as an early new year’s resolution.

So as my furry little helper oversees packing and shipping of orders, I want to thank you for your continued patronage and support of our little dye business.  It makes me so happy to hear how much you like what we do and to see the things you make with our products!  I’m constantly in awe and very humbled by all of it!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!!!

Welcome Spring!

It’s been a long winter–especially with Monday evening’s surprise snow–and we’re thrilled that it’s finally here.  Time for some spring colorways, yes?

Colorways Apricot (top) and Daffodil (bottom), yarn is Superwash Sock

I don’t know about you, but these colorways definitely make me feel more hopeful!

Sandy Fundraising Update

Reposting from the update I just posted in the Moose Manor Hand Paints group on Ravelry

For starters, please accept my deepest apologies for the long delay in posting about the Sandy fundraisers I ran in November and December.  Bad job of juggling notifications on my part!

So to refresh your memory, I ran two fundraisers in November and December to raise money for charities that are helping Superstorm Sandy victims.  In both instances, 20% of the purchase price of yarn and fiber in my Etsy shop.  Donation moneys were paid to both charities on December 31, 2012.

What I didn’t tell you about the fundraisers is that I planned to match that 20% amount with my own money so that could double the donation amount.  Soooo…

Babylon Rotary Club’s Sandy Relief fund, which was November’s fundraiser recipient, received $70.

The Robin Hood Relief Fund, which was December’s fundraiser recipient, received $105.

Thank you sooooo very much for your support of Moose Manor Hand Paints and for helping us to help our neighbors!!!

Update–MMHP Sandy Relief Fundraiser Update

I’ve decided to continue running this past weekend’s Sandy Relief Fundraiser through the end of November!  Not only will this give me time to photograph more yarn for the shop (yes, I am bad about that), but it will also allow me to mix up the charitable giving a bit by giving me the opportunity to focus on another worthy charity or two.

So… watch check back in the Etsy shop later this week to see what’s new!

Although the leaves have barely begun to change here on Long Island, there’s no denying that fall is definitely here…

Eye Candy Friday–The Unbearably Cute Edition

Yesterday was the unofficial birthday of Miss Lily, Moose Manor’s QA manager. (Everything has to get her sniff of approval, you know.) Two years ago yesterday was the day that Lily chose us to be her family and came home with us from the Town of Islip Shelter. Since her actual birthday, like so many of the details of her early life, is unknown to us, December 15th is the day that we celebrate her birthday.

So Happy Birthday, you sweet little girl (that is, when you’re not trying to rule the world).  I can’t imagine life without you!

The last of the autumn leaves…

Along Greenfield Road in Colrain, Massachusetts

On the road again

This morning the Tsock Tsarina and I are heading up the the Fiber Festival of New England.  We’re just going to be there today, checking out the vendors, socializing, and… pick up our new Robo-Skeiner!

Yup, that’s one serious skeiner!  During the lead up to Rhinebeck it became very clear that we were going to need a heavy duty skeiner to keep up with the production demands of the Tsock club and the year’s fiber festivals. So, last week Lisa made the arrangements and today picking up our new baby from Ball and Skein at the Big E.

And yes, there will be pictures… and video!
