Yesterday was the unofficial birthday of Miss Lily, Moose Manor’s QA manager. (Everything has to get her sniff of approval, you know.) Two years ago yesterday was the day that Lily chose us to be her family and came home with us from the Town of Islip Shelter. Since her actual birthday, like so many of the details of her early life, is unknown to us, December 15th is the day that we celebrate her birthday.

So Happy Birthday, you sweet little girl (that is, when you’re not trying to rule the world).  I can’t imagine life without you!

A blueberry bush’s last display of color before winter…

Last night we met at our local Panera (Panera Bread, the official meeting place of the Tsarina’s Tsock Tstaff)  to go over some sample colors. Although these need to be reviewed under additional light sources–including the almighty sun–I think we have some winners here.

Which ones?  I can’t tell you that!  It would spoil the surprise for the club members. Let’s just say that there’s a good chance that most of these will find their way into a kit or skein of either Lisa’s yarn or some of mine at some point in the next 12 months or so.  And that’s about as specific as I’m gonna get right now.

Along Greenfield Road in Colrain, Massachusetts

This morning the Tsock Tsarina and I are heading up the the Fiber Festival of New England.  We’re just going to be there today, checking out the vendors, socializing, and… pick up our new Robo-Skeiner!

Yup, that’s one serious skeiner!  During the lead up to Rhinebeck it became very clear that we were going to need a heavy duty skeiner to keep up with the production demands of the Tsock club and the year’s fiber festivals. So, last week Lisa made the arrangements and today picking up our new baby from Ball and Skein at the Big E.

And yes, there will be pictures… and video!

This is where I’ll post information about my yarns and spinning fibers, my colorways, and where the inspiration comes from for some of my favorite colorways.  You’ll get a heads up on all Etsy shop updates, as well as our appearances at various fiber festivals in the northeast.  I’ll be posting from both of our dye studios — the Jacksonville, Vermont birthplace of Moose Manor, and our southern studio on the south shore of Long Island, New York.  And I’ll tell you all about some exciting special projects I’m involved in!
